MegaFood’s motto is “Fresh From Farm To Tablet” and claims to be obsessed with quality. They have lots of certifications and state that they are nutrition with ambition.
Website Navigation
The MegaFood website is clean, organized, and informative. The homepage covers information about its products, experts, blog, and headlines. The overall website covers information about the products, the farmers, and the company as a whole. They have a section where you can meet the farmers they work with which is kind of cool so that you can learn more about where the whole food in the products comes from. They also have pretty good information about their company.
They do have a blog that we like due to it being clearly created around their company beliefs. They have topics about activism, lifestyle, news, product education, and recipes. We thought the product education was a great idea as you can learn how it can help you.
Catalog
MegaFood has 97 products including chews, multivitamins, gummies, bundles, prenatal and postnatal, food/herbal formulas, minerals, probiotic supplements, vitamins B, C, D, E, and booster powders. To us, chews and gummies sounded like they would be the same thing. They told us that chews are for overall foundational support and gummies are focused on individual nutrients. We chose to purchase the MegaFood One Daily.
They do have quite a few products but they are categorized well to help you narrow down your search results. When looking for multivitamins we were left with 29 results.
Packaging Information
The label of the MegaFood product is informative and pretty easy to read. The supplement facts are clearly stated as the vitamin or mineral you are getting along with where it came from. We do like that they show all of the certifications they have on the front of the bottle so that one could look more into those.
The MegaFood One Daily multivitamin claims to be for anyone who wants to support their optimal health and well-being. They also state it supports healthy energy production, nervous system health, supports healthy bones, supports normal immune function.
The overall packaging of the product is fairly good. We like the quality feel of the glass bottle. We wish it had a lift-tab lid in comparison to a push and turn lid. Their lid also has the Certified B Corporation seal.
The packaging that the product ships in was interesting. It is wrapped in a pretty large piece of cardboard that folds into a cylinder and then is placed inside of another paper bag. Included with all of this is a paper stating “wellness without the waste” and that all of their packagings are recyclable. That’s cool that it’s recyclable but it seems like they are using more packaging than they need to be. They might do all of this additional packaging because the bottle is glass but other products in glass bottles that we purchased did not do this.
Customer Service
MegaFood responded within a day on both Instagram (they are also active on Facebook) Direct Messages and email. Their responses were pretty thorough and helpful.
When visiting their website we received a popup for 10% off your first order when you sign up for email newsletters and special offers.
They have a good, understanding return policy. It is stated as, “We know there are a lot of options when it comes to choosing your supplements, and we’re humbled that you took us for a spin! We also know that when it comes to nutrition, one size does NOT fit all. So what to do when the product you got just isn’t right for you? First, take a deep breath! Stress is no one’s friend. Next, reach out to us within 30 days of your purchase for a full refund if you find you’re not 100% satisfied. There, wasn’t that easy?” Before you call, email, or chat to request a refund you will need your reason for returning, item #/product name & size, and your order #.
Quality
The quality of this product was something we were very questionable about. They say “Fresh From Farm To Tablet” but they also say that they add vitamins and minerals.
When asked if their products were natural and if they added anything, they responded, “No legal definition has been created against which to measure an ‘all-natural’ statement. Natural means different things to different people. For example, some may consider compounds derived from materials found in nature, such as vitamins, to be natural while others may not.” Umm as far as we know, natural means natural? They continued, “In the absence of a definition for this term, we do our best to create products that we believe best serve the needs of our customers – those that deliver whole foods together with added nutrients to ensure guaranteed and meaningful potencies. For MegaFood FoodState Nutrients we use specific processes in which a vitamin, for instance, is delivered with single, select whole food such as Vitamin C with Orange, Folic Acid with Broccoli and Vitamin E with Organic Brown Rice. Each FoodState mineral is delivered in a yeast-bound form (ie bound to S. cerevisiae, otherwise known as nutritional yeast). While vitamins and minerals are an aspect of our process and products, we are truly committed to the use of whole foods from trusted partners with over 700,000 lb of whole foods having been purchased for use in our products last year. We strive to work with farmers that support our commitment to organic and regenerative agriculture.” While we appreciated this thorough response we still weren’t quite sure if they add any synthetic vitamins to their products. After further discussion with them, they stated, “It is not just whole foods – we deliver added nutrients and minerals with food.” Ah-hah there it is! They add other things, not just use whole food.
They do have a video about the process their nutrients go through.
Product
We wanted to taste this product to know how natural it tasted. We broke the tablet with a hammer to get a better idea of the taste. The smell of this is rather strange, it has a strong scent that is hard to describe, it is slightly sour with notes of earth and sort of gives us a cat food vibe. The taste is very similar to this explanation and does not taste natural.
The capsules seem like a size that would be decent to swallow. We would not recommend chewing them or breaking them up because of the awful taste.

Experience
Father Nature and Jolly Green Giant took this product for 10 days. As they took it, they continued to live their normal lifestyle with no changes. The size of the capsule was pretty easy to swallow but they did not notice any major changes while taking this. They didn’t feel better or worse.
Recommendation
We would not recommend MegaFood products. The quality makes us questionable and it seems like there is not much good to come from it. Pass on this product and get one that has better quality ingredients.
