USA Today states, “Detox diets get rid of toxins in the body and develop the habits that will keep you on track for a healthier life. As you may know, the body has its own natural detox methods. The liver, sweat, and urine are all ways your body rids itself of toxins.” While it’s great and amazing that your body can help get rid of toxins, USA Today continues and explains that “…sometimes these vital organs work too hard and need a break. A detox diet is a great way to take the pressure off your organs, so you can keep them strong for the future.” Taking care of your body is important and finding ways to maximize your health will keep you feeling great!

One of the best ways to naturally detox your body is to eat foods with fiber! Dr. Shel explains, “Toxins tend to stick to the colon and intestines while the other stuff moves out. The buildup of these toxins can have many negative effects on the body.” They explain that as you eat foods with fiber, your colon and intestines will be cleaned from these toxins. The fiber will help the toxins in your body to come out through waste. Dr. Shel states that there are two types of fiber; “Insoluble Fiber [which] does not absorb or dissolve in water.” and “Soluble fiber [which] is ‘soluble’ in water, meaning it dissolves in water. When mixed with water it forms a gel-like substance and swells.” Both of these types of fiber are beneficial to your health and in detoxing toxins from your body. Some foods you should try to eat frequently include:
