Website Navigation

Their website was actually quite easy to navigate. There weren’t a million tabs that opened when we hovered over “Shop All”. There is a filter feature which allowed us to see “All Texas Superfood”, “Nutritional Supplements”, and “Drinkable Supplements”. After we added a product to our cart, it didn’t show that there was anything in the cart so we weren’t sure if we had added anything in there. We went to my cart and there were 2 products in there when we had only added 1. It’s not like this was a huge problem, but it was a little confusing. It was easy to find their contact information.

Catalog

We ordered the Texas SuperFood Original. They offer their 3 main products in capsule and powder form, which would be convenient for those who can’t swallow capsules. They offer around 20 products which is not too many and not too little. Their three main products seem like they are the same thing.

Packaging Information

There is a suggested use area above the supplement facts. You take 6 capsules daily. They recommend you take small doses multiple times a day with meals. They give a toll-free order line phone number and website address on the bottle. They list their ingredients alphabetically starting with vegetables, fruit, enzyme blend, probiotic cultures, algae grasses and other, and finally ends with others. They don’t give percentages or amounts of any of the ingredients which is very strange. They do give the supplement facts like calories, sodium percentages, carbohydrates, etc. Their capsules are made of gelatin apparently. Gelatin is not vegan.

Customer service

They have a live chat feature, so obviously, we had to ask some questions.  We waited for over 30 minutes on their “live” chat to talk to an agent. We asked “What is your multivitamin for general health?” the sales rep said, “It is”… okay? It is what? The conversation went on for a while and was useless and very confusing. We asked if the Texas SuperFood Original is safe for children, but their live chat team never got back to us. On the positive side of their customer service, we subscribed and it was so easy to cancel! Their online account cancellation was very easy to maneuver. We also called to cancel our order and they were great. It was very quick and very easy to cancel. They have Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. All of which are absolutely awful and have horribly low engagement (fake followers maybe?).

Quality

They claim they are non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, vine-ripened fruits and vegetables, no sugar added, and soy-free. On their bottles they say they are an “All-natural whole food dietary supplement”. They do use all-natural… extracts and powders. And they use whole food… juice. They use isolates and juice powders. Also it seems the FDA isn’t a big fan.

Let’s get a few things straight, when you isolate vitamins or nutrients instead of using whole food, you are left with isolates. Isolates are not great for you. Whole soy is really beneficial for your health, but when you have soy isolate or soy extract, it can become harmful. They make their products by juicing fruits and vegetables and then turning the juice into powder. In other words, they are taking all the sugars from fruits and vegetables and leaving all the nutrients. Juice is all sugar and has essentially no nutrients. The capsules smell don’t smell great. They taste even worse. They taste like spicy dirt. A sales rep told us (over live chat) that she believed the capsules were made of cucumber and that they were vegetarian. So they claim to be vegan, but we were told straight from a sales rep that they are vegetarian.

Price

Their product is listed at $54.95 on their website. They offer a Subscribe & Save option where you can save $5.00 and get free express shipping. You also have the option to buy in bulk and save $16.48 when you buy 3 bottles. Next to Subscribe & Save it says free express shipping, but they offer free shipping on all orders, so you don’t have to choose the Subscribe & Save option to receive free shipping. You get free shipping for free. They are also available on Amazon for $59.95.

Experience

Cute Cactus and Organic Oscar took 6 capsules every day for 10 days. They felt no changes and saw no changes. They thought 6 capsules daily was quite a lot of capsules to take in comparison to the other supplements we have reviewed. They could taste the powder inside the capsule when they swallowed it. It was hard to get all 6 down every day.

Recommendation

We do not recommend Texas SuperFood. We saw no changes, positive or negative.
