Website Navigation

There are 2 shopping tabs; Shop by Product and Shop by Health Interest. There are too many tabs and subtabs and sub-sub tabs, it was kind of overwhelming. There are 3 additional tabs on the right each with 1-9 additional subtabs. Lots of tabs. I found their multivitamin under general health. Their website doesn’t allow you to zoom in on the pictured label so you can’t see all the ingredients which is a bit concerning. I tried clicking on the “read” button to see the reviews, but the page never responded. You have to go to the bottom of the page and click on customer reviews, so that was a little confusing. I searched “multivitamin” in their search bar, and was shown 8 results. On the left, they have a handy little filter tool that includes (too many options) price, availability, vendor, product type, and collections. Their footer has many choices as well. There are too many choices with tabs, subtabs, buttons, filters, etc. Overall, there is a lot going on with every page I opened. With so much going on and so many choices, it was hard to know where to start.

Catalog

They have quite a lot of products, including products for your pets! They have 54 products. We chose the Total Balance Unisex Premium, we were told by the sales rep over live chat that it is basically their multivitamin.

Packaging Information

The information and instructions for use are straightforward. Take 6 tablets every day in the morning or in 2 doses, 3 in the morning, and 3 later in the day. This product is not safe for children (as we were told by a sales rep through the Chat Now feature), but it says that nowhere on the packaging. Also, there is no childproof cap on this product. Their ingredients label is HUGE.

Customer Service

They have a Chat Now feature which is really great, unless it’s not live. We waited 15+ minutes to chat with a sales rep. Once we got on, they were very quick to respond, but not super personable. We asked what year they were established and the sales rep asked me why we wanted to know the answer, so that was strange. But they eventually answered all of our questions. They have Facebook and Instagram. They also have a Youtube channel with little content.

Quality

Here is where things get fishy. This label is honestly scary. There are 88 ingredients, most of which are not from natural sources. There is an amino acid blend, but amino acids come from whole food. Yet, there are no whole foods on the ingredients list, only very few extracts like aloe vera leaf extract (extracts do not contain near as many nutrients as the real thing). Since there are no whole foods listed, that means their amino acids must have been lab-made, which is obviously not natural. They list bromeliad (from pineapple stem) and papain (from papaya), but those are the most natural ingredients on the bottle (again, those are extracts). For a brand that claims to sell natural products, there is practically nothing natural about them.

Here is an excerpt taken directly from their Amazon page, “Xtend-Life endeavors to use as many natural ingredients possible in our product; however, sometimes it is not possible to source ingredients from the natural source.” That doesn’t sound like an all-natural supplement to me. This product even contains additives like soy lecithin.

Another very interesting/kind of concerning thing I noticed was the package itself (the package of the Total Balance Unisex Premium) says, “Does not contain soy, gluten, dairy, peanut, or shellfish.” Okay great, but on their Amazon listing, it says, “Contains soy, peanut. Does not contain gluten, dairy, or shellfish.” So which is it? This could end up being a very dangerous purchase for people who have extreme allergies.

Price

Each bottle of the Total Balance Unisex Premium is a 15 day supply for $45.00. So a month Supply is $90.00. This is definitely one of the more expensive products we’ve reviewed. It’s the same price on Amazon with a $6.00 shipping fee.

Product

The pills are a really gross yellow-brown color. They smell worse than they look. These may be the smelliest supplement we’ve tried. The taste was not unpleasant, it was just very unnatural. Their little saying, “ sometimes it is not possible to source ingredients from the natural source” really shines in this product. It doesn’t smell natural and it doesn’t taste natural. We did all like their cool packaging with the gold foil lettering.

Experience

Sunflower the Kid and Nature Boy tried Xtend Life for 10 days and somehow felt worse when taking this “natural supplement”. It just didn’t sit right with them. They would get a slight stomach ache every day about 15 minutes after taking it.

Recommendation

We do not recommend this product. It is not natural at all. We felt no positive effects and even worse, felt negative effects.
